Hajj registration to begin from Sept 1

Registration for Hajj 2025 will begin on September 1 and continue till November 30 through both public and private channels in Bangladesh.

The initial registration period will not be extended later, reads a press release of the Ministry of Religious Affairs.

The release also states that efforts are underway to reduce the general Hajj package price of 2025 compared to last year.

This year’s Hajj package price will be announced after the cost of the Saudi phase and air fare are determined.

Any previous or new pre-registered person can do initial registration by depositing Tk3 lakh. The remaining amount of the Hajj package must be paid within the time specified in the package.

The pre-registration fee for both public and private channels is Tk30,000.

For the year 2025, Saudi has allocated a quota of 127,198 people from Bangladesh. When this quota is filled, the initial registration process will automatically close.

Under the regular package there will be a maximum of 6 seats in a room at home or hotel. But package upgradation facility will be available. Hajj agencies can send pilgrims with special package facilities.

The list of agencies initially qualified to conduct Hajj activities is available at www.hajj.gov.bd. Also, any information regarding Hajj can be known by calling 16136.

Anyone who wants to perform hajj can do pre-registration through the e-Hajj system (www.hajj.gov.bd) and e-Hajj BD mobile app through government through all Union Digital Centers, Divisional and District Offices of Islamic Foundation, Baitul Mukarram Mosque and Hajj Offices in Ashkona, Dhaka.

Hajj pilgrims by private agencies have to do preliminary registration by the authorised agencies, both private and public. Pre-registration certificate and passport will be required at the time of initial registration.

People intending to go for Hajj through government should deposit money as Sale Proceeds of Hajj Deposit in account number 0002633000908 of Sonali Bank PLC, Local Office Branch, Motijheel Dhaka. Initial registration money can be deposited through voucher at any branch of Sonali Bank.

Hajj pilgrims through private means have to deposit the initial registration amount at the agency’s designated bank.
