The Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs has screened and endorsed Ambassador Ismail Abba Yusuf for appointment as Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
During the session at the National Assembly, Yusuf fielded questions on his qualifications, administrative experience, and strategic vision for the Commission. Lawmakers praised his leadership credentials, noting his potential to strengthen institutional governance, improve stakeholder coordination, and enhance operational efficiency in Hajj administration.
With the committee’s approval secured, the nomination now moves to the full Senate for confirmation. If ratified, Ambassador Yusuf will formally assume office as substantive Chairman of NAHCON, tasked with overseeing the Commission’s critical role in managing pilgrimage operations for Nigerian Muslims.
