Saudi Arabia’s Prince Khalid bin Salman receives first dose of COVID-19 vaccine

Saudi Arabia’s Prince Khalid bin Salman received his first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine on Sunday. 

His brother Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman was vaccinated on Friday and sparked a surge in registrations for the vaccine in the Kingdom shortly afterwards.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia announced 9 deaths from COVID-19 and 154 new infections on Sunday.
Of the new cases, 42 were recorded in Riyadh, 33 in Makkah, 17 in the Eastern Province, 16 in Madinah, 12 in Asir, 3 in Najran and 3 in Jazan.
The total number of recoveries in the Kingdom increased to 353,179 after 175 more patients recovered from the virus.
A total of 6,185 people have succumbed to the virus in the Kingdom so far.
The Kingdom’s health ministry said that more than 700,000 people have registered to receive the coronavirus vaccine and that it is available to all segments of society.
