The Kano State government has dazzled the winners of the recently concluded 35th Annual Quran Recitation Competition with a car each, a Hajj slot and cash prize of N100,000 each.
The prizes were announced by Governor Abdullahi Ganduje who was represented by his deputy, Nasiru Gawuna at the closing ceremony of the event on Tuesday.
“The state government as usual awards overall winners with Hajj seats, a car Honda Accord brand and a N100,000 cash prize for each of the two winners from the male category and the female category.”
The governor congratulated Malam Harazimi Asim from the male section and Malama Nusaiba Shuaibu Ahmad from the female section, who became the overall winners in the memorisation of the complete Qur’an category.

He further disclosed that preparations by the State government are on top gear to host the 2021 National Qur’anic Recitation Competition, scheduled to take place from 26th February to 6th March, 2021.
The governor praised the efforts and commitment of those who worked day and night to see the success of the competition while he urged them to exhibit the same hospitality in the oncoming event.
He charged wealthy individuals in the society to establish more Quranic schools to reinforce recitation of the holy Book among children.
