The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), has directed state Muslim pilgrims welfare boards and agencies to start immediate preparations for Hajj 2022.
NAHCON chairman, Alhaji Zikrullah Hassan gave the directives on Wednesday in Abuja after the commission met with Executive Secretaries of the various Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards, Commission and agencies across the country.
NAHCON’s decision came following the outcome of communication received by the commission from Saudi Arabian authorities in respect of preparation for 2022 Hajj.
The Chairman further said that unlike previous Hajj operations where foreign Hajj bodies actively participated in the pre Hajj preparations process, arrangements and preparations for this year’s Hajj may be handled by Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.

NAHCON also directed the states agencies to migrate all pilgrims’ deposits to the Hajj Saving Scheme in Jaiz Bank in order to harmonize and streamline the process of Hajj 2022.
