The Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), has urged Nigerians at home and those performing Umrah (lesser Hajj) to pray for Allah’s guidance and protection for the in-coming government of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The Secretary General of JNI, Dr Khalid Aliyu, made the call in a statement issued recently in Kaduna, saying “it has become more evident that we cannot get it right without prayers.”
Aliyu stated that the group, under the leadership of Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar, the Sultan of Sokoto and President General of JNI, felicitates with Nigerian Muslims and the world-over on the occasion of the advent of the last 10 days of the 1444AH/2023 Ramadan.

He added that the month of Ramadan is especially unique among the 12 lunar months and the last 10 days come with the most sacred of nights among the nights of majesty which is better than a thousand nights. He said “we must therefore strive harder to supplicate for our respective well-being and the stability, security, development and economic prosperity of Nigeria.
“Muslims are encouraged to stay vigil in worship through the last 10 nights as reported in the practice of the messenger Allah.
“The practice is that we should not only stay vigil alone but together with our respective families. “All should wake up and engage in acts of worship to attain Allah’s mercies and blessings.”
“Muslims are expected to increase their acts of generosity toward the poor and the needy, as the blessings of Allah are increased within these periods by emancipating more souls from hell to the benevolence of Allah.
“It is therefore the wish of JNI that every Muslim will strive to benefit from these blessings we are favoured with, as none of us is sure of witnessing yet another opportunity.”
