President Bola Tinubu has approved the return of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) to the Vice President’s office.
According to a statement issued from the Office of Vice President, and signed by the Director of Information, Olusola Abiola, the decision was in line with their establishment laws. Other agency returned to the office of Vice President include National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
It will be recalled that NAHCON was hitherto under the Presidency and reporting to the office of Secretary to Government of the Federation.
With this new development, NAHCON will now report its activities to the office of the Vice President.

The statement reads: “President Bola Tinubu has approved the return of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) to the Office of the Vice President for supervision, in compliance with their various establishment Acts.
“The President has also approved a formal structure for the Office of the Vice President as well as an appropriate number of technical and administrative aides that will work with the Vice President in the discharge of his responsibilities.
