Bauchi State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has solicited the support of Hajj stakeholders to educate the intending pilgrims on the new 2024 Hajj policies introduced by Saudi Arabia and the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
The Executive Secretary of the Board, Imam Abdurrahman Ibrahim Idris, made the plea Tuesday at a phone-in and live program titled “Reality and Early Plan of the 2024 Hajj Operation” held at Albarka Radio Bauchi, saying the board has made all arrangements to embark on state-wide sensitization tour of all LGAs and Emirates Councils to seek their collaboration.
He noted that Nigeria has less than four months to conclude making all necessary arrangements on this year’s Hajj exercise.

Imam Abdurrahman said the board has already distributed all the 3364 Hajj slots to the existing pay points in the state and announced the change of the board headquarters paypoint to the Hajj Savings Scheme, which he described as an avenue available for pilgrims to save gradually.
He reminded that NAHCON has advised intending pilgrims to pay not less than N4.5 million as the minimum Hajj deposit this year, but considering the economic situation, the Bauchi State decided to collect the sum of N3 million as initial and minimum deposit in order to encourage them despite the limited time.
While emphasizing the need to make the general public aware of the happenings on 2024 Hajj exercise, Imam Abdurrahman called for support and contributions of all to ensure a successful 2024 Hajj operation.
