The airlift of pilgrims from Nigeria to the Holy land is expected to begin from the tenth of next month with Kastina State pilgrims.
This was disclosed by the Chairman of the Nigerian Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON, Barrister Abdullah Mukhtar Muhammad, Thursday in Abuja, at a one day stakeholders meeting on 2019 Hajj preparations and operation.
He said the inaugural flight of the intending pilgrims, scheduled for Katsina is expected to commence with the intending pilgrims from the State.
At the stakeholders meeting, awards were presented to deserving individuals and the best performing pilgrims welfare Boards, FCT, Kaduna States and the Armed forces, while Kogi bagged the most innovative pilgrims welfare Board award.
Meanwhile, the National Assembly has commended NAHCON’s efforts in the downward review of this year’s Hajj fares.
The Senate President, Ahmad Lawal and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Gbajabiamila, made the commendation in their separate speeches at the stakeholders meeting, urging intending pilgrims from the Country to reciprocate the gesture by being law abiding at home and in the holy.
