The Borno state Muslim Pilgrims Board had commenced the inoculation of 2021Hajj intending pilgrims.
It could be recalled that the Executive Secretary of the Borno State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Ali Malam Bukar had issued a press statement in Maiduguri on Thursday 8th April, 2021, calling on all Intending Pilgrims from the State for this years Hajj, to avail themselves to receive the COVID 19 Vaccine, stressing that any Intending Pilgrim who fails to do so will not be allowed to perform this year’s Hajj.

2. In the statement, the Executive Secretary said that the directive is from the National Hajj Commission sequel to the same directive from the Saudi Arabian Government.
3. The Vaccination excise therefore commenced today at 9AM at the Board’s Headquarters in Maiduguri.

The first to be inoculated was the Executive Secretary of the Board, who said he volunteered to go first in order to allay the fears of the Intending Pilgrims and to encourage them to receive the Vaccine before the excise ends on Friday 16th April, for them to meet up with the average 12 weeks interval for the two rounds of the vaccination before the commencement of the Hajj excise, reminding pilgrims from the state that the inaugural flight will take off from Maiduguri the Borno State capital.
5.Meanwhile the Inoculation excise had commenced since yesterday at the Biu Local Government Center which comprises Biu, Bayo, Hawul, Kwaya Kusar and Shani Local Governments. As at the time of issuing this statement, over 80 Percent of the 400 expected Intending Pilgrims from the Biu Centre have been inoculated.
