Eti-Osa launches Islamic first aid group, NAG

A voluntary Islamic first aid and humanitarian service organization, Nigeria Aid Group has been inaugurated in Eti-Osa, Lagos State.

The organization has been operating under the supervision of the Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development since 1978 in the state with its peers like: Red-cross Society, Boys Scout of Nigeria, Sherrif Guards and the host of others will fill the yearning gap in Eti-Osa and environs.

According to the facilitator, Alhaji Sheikh Yousuph Afinni Abdul-Bari, the inaguration of the Eti-Osa Divisional Command which is being led by Com. Mikail Turawa marked the 18th Divisional Command under Lagos State Command.

Prior to the inauguration, a three-day training was organised for the Eti Osa squad members on First Aid, Humanitarian, and disaster management operation under the direct supervision of the state Training Officer Com. Tijani AbdSalam.

The new Eti-osa support group will assist the existing agencies in Lagos State to curb the effect of disaster or unforeseen circumstances that may occur within their locality by applying first aid mechanisms to revive victims through application of CPR ( Cardio-Pulmonary Resucitation ) method and other techniques learnt during training and will attend to casualties whenever any unfortunate incident happens within and outside their domain before they get to hospitals.

ASP Alaka said it was evidently clear that the Nigeria Aid Group was really preparing our youths to be more useful, nationalistic, patriotic and become a good citizens of this great nation.
He appreciated all officers of the Nigeria Aid Group including the state Director, the state Secretary, the state training Officer, State Women Leader, State Welfare Officer, the state Hajj Operation Officer among others who have contributed in no small measure for the successful inauguration of the commad.


“Our sincere appreciation goes to all Etiosa command squad for providing warmth environment, especially the Divisional leader Com. Turawa Mikail, we congratulate our indefatigable state patron/Adviser, Chief Imam Abdul-Bari Yousuph Afinni for been the brain behind this success achieved before, during and even after the inauguration. May Allah appreciate everyone who contributed in no small measure to our success yesterday.


Highlights of the events were the display of various skills acquired by members of the squad which centered on first aid, humanitarian and disaster management operation.
