The chairman, Oyo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Prof Sayed Malik has said that immunisation against contagious diseases would be a precondition for travelling to the Holy land for all intending pilgrims in the state, urging all yet-to-be immunised pilgrims to present themselves for the exercise immediately.
Prof Malik who stated this while speaking with newsmen recently said the immunisation exercise commenced in the state on Wednesday, May 17.
Malik implored all prospective pilgrims to converge at the Permanent site of the Hajj Camp, Olodo, Ibadan, early for the exercise.
It would be recalled that the board had earlier conducted medical screening and orientation exercise for intending pilgrims across the state.

Malik said that the inoculation exercise would be another opportunity for those who could not attend the screening exercise, stressing “health officials will be available again to attend to them.”
He said that the exercise was one of the compulsory requirements and procedures which must be fulfilled by each of the intending pilgrims before embarking on the pilgrimage to the Holy land of Mecca.
“Different inoculation vaccines would be given to them in order to protect them against Polio, Yellow Fever, Meningitis and others contagious infections in accordance with the International requirements for travel.
“This exercise is to ensure all of our intending pilgrims are adequately immunised and in good health condition before embarking on the trip to the Holy land,” the chairman said.
Malik advised all concerned Intending pilgrims to come along with their original payment receipts and other necessary documents.
