Hajj 2025: 1.288 Lagos pilgrims now in Saudi Arabia

The Number of Lagos State pilgrims already airlifted to the city of Madinah, Saudi Arabia, has risen to 1,288 with the safe arrival of the fourth batch of 226 on Sunday, May 18, 2025.

The fourth flight, FLYNAS Airbus XY8420 departed the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos on Saturday at 4.56pm with 121 male and 105 female pilgrims.  The state has a total of 1,432 registered pilgrims for the 2025 Hajj.

Also aboard the plane were 136 Osun State pilgrims (66 males and 70 females), making a total of 362 pilgrims and 14 officials of NAHCON aboard the flight which touched down at the Abdul-Aziz International Airport, Madinah on Sunday, at 1.38am Saudi Arabian time.

Some of the Lagos State Government functionaries aboard the flight are the Special Adviser to the Governor on Islamic Matters/Chairman, 2025 Hajj Central Working Committee (CWC), Dr. Ahmad Abdullahi Jebe; Chairman, Da’wah and Sensitization sub-committee, Prof. Kabir Paramole; Chairman, Medical sub-committee, Dr. (Mrs.) Faosat Dabiri and Chairman, Bags and Luggage sub-committee, Alh. Yusuf Ara, amongst several others.

Meanwhile, the pilgrims aboard the fourth flight have been successfully accommodated in their hotels by officials of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON). They are also expected to proceed for ziyarah (visitation to historical sites in Madinah) on Monday immediately after Solat Subuh.
