The FCT Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Abuja, has reaffirmed its readiness for a flawless 2026 Hajj exercise. The Director of the Board, Mallam Kadiri Edah, stated this when he received the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria’s (NAHCON) new coordinator in charge of the North Central Zone, Hajiya Zainab Mohammed, and her team on a courtesy visit to the Board.
Mallam Edah disclosed that the Board has put adequate mechanisms in place to actualize the success of the forthcoming Hajj operation. He stressed that the Board is mapping out new strategies to assist the pilgrims in attaining the desired goal of performing an acceptable Hajj in 2026. The Director also called for the Commission’s support in addressing challenges the Board may encounter during the operation, considering that each Hajj operation comes with its peculiar challenges.

In her speech, the new NAHCON coordinator for the North Central Zone, Hajiya Zainab Mohammed, said the visit was to familiarize herself with the Board and she called for support in discharging her assignment in the zone. Hajiya Zainab urged the collaboration of the FCT in ensuring hitch-free Hajj exercises for the benefit of Nigerians who will be part of the contingent to the holy land of Saudi Arabia for the religious obligation. She emphasized the Commission’s commitment to ensuring remarkable Hajj operations in the future and called for the support of the Director and staff of the Board in each operation. The registration of intending pilgrims, camping activities, and airlifting of pilgrims were among the issues discussed at the meeting.
