The Saudi Arabian Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has directed all pilgrims already gotten permit for this year’s hajj to begin a one-week home isolation.
The quarantine which began last weekend is part of the guidelines issued recently to the 10,000 home pilgrims to ensure that are all free from coronavirus.
All the pilgrims will leave their various homes after the one-week isolation period to Makkah where they will also be quarantined for another four days before beginning the proper hajj rites.
Kaabanews monitored the development from Haramian Sherifain, Saudi Arabia, stating that the Ministry of Health also began communicating with the candidates, and visited their homes for medical examination, and pro vided vaccination against fever and seasonal influenza, and installed pilgrims with a “safe” smart bracelet.
“After the arrival of the pilgrims wishing to perform the pilgrimage to Makkah, all pilgrims will be subjected to quarantine for a period of 4 days starting from the dawn of 4th of Dhul Hijjah until the dawn of 8th Dhul Hijjah, and the last date to enter Quarantine will be before Dhur Prayer on 4th Dhul Hijjah.
They will also perform “Hajj Ifraad” and will enter Ihram from Qarn al Manazil in Taif, a town close to Makkah.
It was also gathered that a supervisor has been assigned for every 20 pilgrims and a bus dedicated to them throughout the Hajj period to aid their movement so as not contact the virus. We also gathered that the Ministry of Hajj has installed the smart bracelet on Hujjaj for the duration of Hajj to monitor their quarantine, movements and temperature.

Ministry of Hajj has vaccinated the Hujjaj against seasonal Influenza and has sent packages containing three bags which contain 2 Ihrams, personal care tools, sterilizers, gravel bags, prayer rug, a canopy, pebble gravel, shoes and a phone charger.
Arafah and Eid-el-Adha day
Meanwhile, the Supreme Court of Saudi Arabia has called upon citizens and residents to look for the Crescent of the month of Dhul Hijjah on today, Monday July 20, corresponding to 29th of Dhul Qadah 1441 and report any sighting to the nearest court. The siting of the new moon will determine the core hajj rite which is the Arafat day.
According to astronomical calculations, the month of Dhul Hijjah will begin this year on July 22 and the climax of Hajj at the Mount Arafat near Makkah will take place on July 30 while Eid-el-Adha will take place on Friday, July 31.
Also, the Presidency of the two Holy Mosques is preparing to broadcast the translation of the Hajj Sermon in Arafat in five languages to serve the non-Arab pilgrims and Muslims around the world. The languages are English, Indonesian, Urdu, French and Farsi.
