The Transportation of Nigerian pilgrims back home after performing hajj is expected to begin on the 13th of June, 2025 and will last for only a fortnight as was the case during outbound airlift operation.
This statement was disclosed by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria’s Commissioner of planning, research, Statistics, information and library services Professor Abubakar Abubakar Yagawal during an elaborate and exclusive interview with journalists in Madinah on Tuesday the 27th May, 2025.
While responding on the smooth and hitch free outbound operation for this year’s hajj operation Prof. Abubakar attributed the success to Almighty Allah and the proactive measures put in place by NAHCON long before the kick-off of the airlift operation as a result of the new visa policy introduced by Saudi authorities which stipulated that visas of all intending pilgrims must be ready prior to outbound airlift commencement.
Prof. Yagawal has assured all the remaining intending pilgrims back home in Nigeria that no one will be left behind as the airlift comes to an end on the 28th of this Month.

Furthermore, Prof. Abubakar Yagawal expressed NAHCON’s readiness to providing excellent and premium services to Nigerian pilgrims at the Masha’ir particularly to the very important personalities( VIPs) in order to forestall the reoccurrence of what happened in the previous year.
However, on the number of Nigerian pilgrims who got their Nusuk cards in order to have access to places of worship in Makkah without hindrance or intimidation Prof. Yagawal confirmed that so far over 36 thousand pilgrims have gotten their Nusuk cards and that the National hajj Commission is working round the clock to ensure that the remaining pilgrims get theirs as soon as possible.
