Kano Pilgrims Board announces extension of Hajj fare payment

KANO — Following a directive by the National Hajj Commission, NAHCON, the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has extended the deadline for Hajj seat payments via bank draft.
The Director General of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u Danbappa, made the announcement on Tuesday during an orientation workshop for staff and local government center officers in Kano.
In a statement, the Board’s Public Relations Officer, Sulaiman A. Dederi said the payment window remained open for intending pilgrims until the first day of the Holy Month of Ramadan.
He further revealed that, “as of today, the board has remitted over N22 billion to the National Hajj Commission on behalf of pilgrims from Kano State”.
In his speech, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Alhaji Yusif Lawan, urged staff and Local Government Hajj Center Officers to put in greater effort while discharging their duties.
Additionally, the Director General commended the Kano State Government for its swift response in addressing the board’s needs whenever required.
Speakers at the orientation program included Sheikh Muhammad Sani Ashir, Malam Nasiru Maccido, and Pharmacist Abdulrashid Habib Ibrahim, along with the Board’s Director of Planning.
