Man slumps, dies behind wheels in Lagos

Pandemonium broke on Friday evening when a man, guessed to be in his mid 50’s suddenly slumped in his car along CMD Road, Magodo area of Lagos.

The yet to be identified victim, according to an eyewitness, was driving alone in his Honda Accord vehicle with Lagos registration number, EKY 55 CM, when the incident happened.

It was gathered that no mobile phone was found on him to identify him or call his family members.

The victim was seen lying unconscious in his car wearing a black T-shirt and a light colour shorts.

An eye witness, who identified himself as Mr. Ayobami Ladipo, alias Mr. Porsche, said the incident happened at about 6.pm, Friday.

“I’ve personally called the Lagos Emergency Number 112 and am hoping they’ll come to his rescue as promised,” Mr. Porsche stated.

Director-General, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, Femi Oke-Osanyintolu, when contacted told Vanguard that the man was later confirmed dead.

According to Oke-Osayintolu, “The agency’s paramedic team responded to a distress call and upon arrival met a lone driver slumped behind the wheel.

“The patient’s vital signs were checked, pulse was absent, after dilation, he was confirmed dead.

“Deceased’s relatives who later arrived at the scene decided to convey the body to the nearest morgue.

“The agency paramedics and the Nigeria Police who were on the scene took over of the case for further action.”
