The Muslim Ummah of South West Nigeria (MUSWEN) has congratulated Alhaji Alidu Shutti on his appointment as the Acting Secretary of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON). In a press statement, MUSWEN President, Alhaji Rasaki Oladejo, praised Shutti’s experience in running Hajj operations, urging him to bring his expertise to bear in his new role.
“We pray Allah guides you to succeed in this new task,” Oladejo said. “Please bring your experience in running Hajj operations to manifestly reflect in this new position of responsibility, for the benefit of the entire Muslim Ummah in Nigeria.”
Oladejo also commended NAHCON Chairman, Prof. Abdullah Usman Saleh, for his “painstaking thoroughness” in identifying quality personnel from within the organization. “This is, as opposed to the approach of appointing someone who will still require going through training and induction into the culture and the inner workings of NAHCON,” he noted.
Shutti’s appointment was announced by NAHCON on December 25, 2024, following the voluntary retirement of Dr. Abdullahi Rabi’u Kontagora ¹. Shutti has served NAHCON in various capacities since 2007, including as Director of Inspectorate and Compliance.
