The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has issued a public warning about a fraudulent Facebook account pretending to be the new Chairman/CEO, Ambassador Ismail Abba Yusuf.
In a statement signed by Deputy Director Fatima Sanda Usara, NAHCON clarified that the account is fake and has no connection to Ambassador Abba Yusuf, who is not on Facebook or other social media platforms.
The commission advises the public to ignore any communication from the fake account and report it accordingly. NAHCON emphasizes that verified information can only be obtained through its official communication channels.
The statement reads:
“The attention of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has been drawn to a fake Facebook account impersonating the new NAHCON Chairman/CEO, Ambassador Ismail Abba Yusuf.
“The Commission hereby states that the account is fraudulent and has no affiliation whatsoever with the NAHCON Chairman. Ambassador Abba Yusuf is not on Facebook or other social media platforms.
“Members of the public are advised to disregard any communication from the said account and or any other for that matter, and report it accordingly.
“Please rely solely on NAHCON’s official communication channels for verified information.”
