The Advisory council of Osogbo Muslim community has denied endorsing or approving the appointment of Governor Ademola Adeleke’s Special Adviser on Political Matters, Muniru Raji as Muslim leader in the state capital.
The Chief Imam of Osogbo, Sheikh Musa Animasaun had endorsed the appointment Raji as Asiwaju Musulumi of Osogbo without the consent of the Advisory council and the news trending on social media.
Addressing newsmen at the Islahudeen Central Mosque in Osogbo, Chairman of the Advisory council, Alhaji Sulaiman Akala said the purported appointment is fake and should be disregarded.
Akala said Raji is currently serving as Special Adviser to Governor Ademola Adeleke, adding that he could only be appointed after successfully completing his assignment as a political office holder.

He also appealed to the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji not to allow further division in the community that has suffered retrogression as result of division, hence, should stay out of religious issues, especially Islamic affairs.
“We are the custodian of Islamic affairs within the central mosque in the state capital and it is within our purview to advise the Chief Imam appropriately. We have concluded that no serving political office holder should in the interest of unity in the town.
“We are here to let you know that no such title as Asiwaju Musulumi of Osogbo has been accorded anyone in the town and the general public should disregard any news on the public claiming someone has been so appointed”, he said
