THE Director General of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u Danbappa, has announced the distribution of over Three Hundred and Seventy-Five Million, Three Hundred and Ninety-Seven Thousand, Six Hundred and Eighty Naira (N375,397,680 ) to pilgrims from Kano State who participated in the 2023 Hajj.
This announcement was made during a management meeting held in his office. According to Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u, the funds were allocated by the *Saudi* *Arabian* authorities through the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria ( *NAHCON* ) as compensation for the power outage experienced during the 2023 Hajj at Mina.
A total of 6,146 pilgrims from Kano State participated in the 2023 Hajj, with each receiving Sixty-One Thousand and Eighty Naira (N61,080).

The payments will be disbursed directly into the pilgrims’ bank accounts, with the process being coordinated by Local Government Hajj Center Officers.
The Director General also called on the Local Government Hajj Center Officers to intensify efforts in promoting the sale of Hajj seats for the upcoming pilgrimage. He expressed concern over the current low performance in seat sales and emphasized the need for collaboration to ensure smooth operations and improved service delivery for prospective pilgrims.
The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board remains committed to safeguarding the welfare of its pilgrims and enhancing their overall Hajj experience.
