In the spirit of the Ramadan period, Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State has released the sum of three hundred and sixty four million, six hundred and forty thousand naira (364,640,000) to be shared among 4,558 members of Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), Vigilantes and Hunters across the State.
The Governor also gave 4,558 bags of rice to be shared among the beneficiaries.
This was disclosed by the Borno State Overall Chairman of the Civilian Joint Taskforce (CJTF), Ba’Lawan Ja’afar yesterday in Maiduguri.
Ja’afar while giving the breakdown said, “the Governor directed that, 4,040 CJTF members are to be given N30,000 each, as their monthly allowance for the month of March, while, N50,000 and a bag of rice is for Ramadan gesture, even as same gesture goes for 518 Vigilantes and hunters across the state.
“His Excellency, Governor Zulum equally assured that, additional 900 more of the CJTF and 100 hunters will soon benefit within the next phase of the palliative programme.
“This is not the first time we are benefitting from the Governor’s large hearted benevolence but, this is very special for us, looking at the dire economic situation facing the country and the fasting period. It really comes handy and timely which further motivated us to continue complement efforts of the military and other security agencies in the ongoing fight against terrorists, saving lives and property of our people, knowing well that our families now have enough to feed themselves.
“I want to assure His Excellency, Governor Zulum and the good people of Borno State that, we will not rest on our oars until lasting peace returns to the State and the North East region. We fervently solicit prayers from all and sundry especially, in this holy month of Ramadan in our quest for victory to humanity”, Ja’afar further added.
