Police in Saudi Arabia have arrested seven Indonesian nationals for committing fraudulent acts related to the Hajj campaign. Four were arrested in Madinah on Thursday while three were apprehended for similar offences in Makkah, Saturday.
They were found posting fake and misleading Hajj campaign advertisements on social media, claiming to provide housing and transportation for pilgrims within the holy sites.
The suspects were referred to the Public Prosecution after taking the necessary legal action. The Public Security called on citizens and residents to adhere to Hajj regulations and instructions, and to report any violations by calling over the number 911 in the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, and the number 999 in the rest of the Kingdom’s regions.
Also, last Thursday, Madinah police arrested four Indonesian residents for defrauding individuals by falsely claiming to offer Hajj sacrificial animal slaughter (Hady) for a fee. The suspects were referred to the Public Prosecution after taking the necessary legal action against them.

The Public Security cautioned against fraudulent social media advertisements offering Hajj services on behalf of others, such as providing Hady sacrifices, selling Hajj bracelets, and arranging transportation, often by fake individuals and entities. It stressed that those who are found violating regulations will be prosecuted.
It reminded Saudi citizens and residents to comply with Hajj regulations and report violations by calling 911 in the regions of Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and the Eastern Province, and 999 in the other regions.
