Nigeria’s Vice President, Kashim Shettima, has arrived in Madina, Saudi Arabia, as part of a visit to perform the Lesser Hajj (Umrah) and engage in bilateral talks.

Shettima landed at the Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz International Airport on Monday afternoon, where he was received by Abdulmohsen Bin Nayef Bin Hamed, the Deputy Governor of Madina Region, and Nigerian diplomatic officials, including Ambassador Mu’azzam Nayaya, Consulate General of Jeddah.

During his stay in Saudi Arabia, the Vice President will visit the Holy Mosque of the Prophet Muhammad and other holy sites in Medina before proceeding to Mecca.
Shettima is also scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with the President of the Islamic Development Bank in Jeddah on December 20, 2024.

The meeting will focus on co-financing arrangements for the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones Phase II and enhancing coordination of the Islamic Development Bank’s projects in Nigeria to support the country’s agricultural and economic development.
