The Baba Adinni of Lagos, Alhaji Sikiru Alabi-Macfoy, has accused some individuals in the state of fuelling crisis in the Lagos Central Mosque.

Alhaji Alabi-Macfoy said since he defeated the candidate they presented to emerge the Baba Adinni of Lagos, they had vowed not to recognize him and make the mosque administration ungovernable for him.

He added that several moves made by the these unnamed persons to remove him as the Baba Adinni of Lagos were unsuccessful.

Alhaji Alabi-Macfoy accused them of dragging him to various police stations on fictitious allegations.

He said: “Today (Wednesday), I was at the State Criminal Investigation Department, (SCID), Panti, to honour their invitation. On getting there, I was accused of disrupting Ramadan Lecture organized by the Chief Imam of Lagos, Sheikh Sulaiman Abou-Nolla at the Central Mosque. I told the officer that I wasn’t at the Central Mosque when the event was held. How will I disrupt such an event? Apparently acting under instruction, my explanation fell on the police deaf ears and they decided to charge me to court.

It was gathered that the court granted Alhaji Alabi-Macfoy a bail after pleading not guilty to the charge. The matter was adjourned till April 16th.
