Terrorists have again invaded Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger state where they set Allawa Community Secondary School ablaze.
The Community School was temporarily being used as the Military Camp keeping vigil in the area.
Co-convener, concerned Shiroro Youths of Niger state, Sani Abubakar Yusuf Kokki confirmed to our Correspondent that the incident happened on Thursday night.
He said the terrorists stormed the town by surprise as they drove straight on motorcycles to the camp and dislodged the security personnel on duty. After setting the camp ablaze, the armed men were said to have trailed members of the Joint Military Task Force who were armed with sophisticated and dangerous weapons and in their large numbers.
He said they stormed the town and headed straight to the military camp and thereafter ambushed the Joint Security Task Force by ambushing them and engaged them in a fierce gun battle.
The number of casualties recorded during the exchange of firework from both sides could not be immediately ascertained.

The youth leader said,”during the deadly encounter, the terrorists after setting ablaze Allawa Secondary School also ransacked the armoury, carted away the Military Patrol Van, evacuated food stuff therein among other things. Casualty figure is yet to be ascertained as feelers are still sketchy while preliminary findings are not suggestive of any loss.”
Kokki added,”these renewed ceaseless and deadly attacks being carried out by the rampaging, murderous and heartless terrorists are depopulating us day by day as our kinsmen are being massacred senselessly.
“We are now hopeless, hapless and helpless as our survival have since been placed on life support. Our vulnerability has reached the highest boiling point to the extent of now living at the mercy of dreaded criminals. This current reality is unfortunate, disheartening, saddening and frightening,” he declared.
For the past months, communities across the state had been a theatre of war by the blood thirsty terrorists where lives and property worth millions of naira had been lost.
