The Chairman/CEO, National Hajj Commission Of Nigeria, of the Commission, Alhaji Zikrullah Kunle Hassan has reiterated his determination to religiously implement his four cardinal objectives which are making hajj affordable to Muslims irrespective of their financial status, reduction in the number of days been spent for Hajj in Saudi Arabia, Hajj Savings Scheme and Hajj Training Institute.
Alhaji Hassan stated this during a courtesy call on Osun State Governor, Alh. Gboyega Oyetola in Osogbo, recently.
He stressed that he was in Osun to brief the Governor on the activities of the Commission as well as soliciting his support in achieving these objectives.
The Chairman noted that the recently introduced Hajj Savings Scheme was designed to provide a long term savings plan for Muslims intending to perform the Hajj, without them seeking financial support from the Government or relatives or selling their properties to finance Hajj trip.
He added that the scheme which is being operated in partnership with Jaiz Bank Plc as an alternate financial empowerment for Nigerians of varying economic status to pursue their Hajj dream without rigour.
While responding, the Governor of Osun state, Alh Gboyega Oyetola formally welcomed Alh Zikrullah Kunle Hassan and his entourage to his office described the visit as home coming.
Alhaji Oyetola congratulatied Alh Hassan on his well deserved appointment as the Chairman of NAHCON, noted that he has no doubt of his ability and capacity to excell in the mandate given him by Mr. President.
The Governor commended Alhaji Hassan on a number of initiatives he has introduced since his appointment and lauded his giant stride in the Hajj Savings Scheme which is aimed at making Hajj affordable to all Muslims.
Alhaji Oyetola assured the NAHCON Chairman/CEO that the government and good people of Osun state will key into the Commission’s programmes.
Also in attendance to receive the NAHCON entourage were the Deputy Governor, Mr. Benedict Alabi, the SSG Prince Wole Oyebamji, Chief of Staff, Dr. Charles Akinola, Deputy Chief of Staff, Prince Abdullah Binuyo.
